Physical and Chemical PropertiesChemical Properties White amorphous precipitate, which contains excess sodium pyrophosphate. It is easy to oxidize in the air and turns into brown by green. The commonly used is its aqueous solution. Light green to dark gray green milky liquid. No smell. Slightly smelled of iron.
UseUse of nutritional supplements (iron fortifier). For fortified milk powder, baby food and other general food.

Ferrous pyrophosphate Solution - Production method

add water (1000L) to crystalline ferrous sulfate (99.6kg) to dissolve. The liquid prepared by sodium pyrophosphate (99.6kg) and water (400L) is immediately added to this solution, and after full stirring, it is heated to above 90 ℃ for 30min. After the reaction is over, the colloidal solution is centrifuged (3000r /min) for 10min; The supernatant is removed, distilled water is added to the precipitate to stir, centrifuged (3000 r/min) for 10min, and the precipitate is washed. After removing the supernatant, add distilled water, stir, wash, and centrifuge. Collect the precipitate and add the same amount of distilled water as originally. Fully mix and stir with a mixer to obtain ferrous pyrophosphate solution. Sealed preservation.
Add excess sodium pyrophosphate to ferrous chloride solution and filter it.
